Hunter never liked surprises, but today was a definite confirmation of that thought.
His hand moves slowly as they meet the pale hand of the girl seated in front of him, delicate green hair framing her face and bringing out the gold in her eyes. She looks a mix of confused and embarrassed, and the boy can only imagine the mirrored expression on his face.
“Hunter, this is Amity Blight: Ms. Amity, meet Hunter.”
"Amity" cringes silently as they make eye contact, an unspoken agreement of discomfort as the adults watch. He knows whats going on but prays to Titan that he’s wrong.
Of course, he has no such luck when his uncle begins speaking.
Hunter figures he’s going to be spending a lot more time with this Blight girl. Especially if she was going to become Amity Wittebane, heiress to the throne, the next empress of the Boiling Isles-
